BRIEF

 

Gold Coast City Council’s major rebrand to City of Gold Coast was entrusted to Fotomedia for the video elements. The brief was to produce a catchy, inspirational and fresh video that excited viewers for the changes ahead.

 

EXECUTION

 

The project started by teasing the audience with archival footage as it builds up to where the Gold Coast is at today. Following this montage Fotomedia created an exciting, fast-paced and colourful edit showcasing the many facets of the Gold Coast. Among this vision are hero shots of iconic Gold Coasters, who were filmed among a backdrop relevant to them.

 

These five ‘heroes’ represented five key elements; vibrance, balance, connectivity, moving forward and warmth. These individual words were composited behind the talent using 3D motion tracking. The final video is an exciting and inspiring celebration of what the Gold Coast is and what it is becoming through the new ‘City of Gold Coast’.
