The client required two commercials, 30sec and a 15sec, that would have a different call to action depending on the territory for their national campaign for the Stitches and Craft show. The best and economical way to do this was to create a ‘Whiteboard’ animation, but using a blackboard instead.
A story outline was provided by the client which Fotomedia took and then produced a more detailed storyboard and created the artwork needed for the TVC. A hand was then photographed holding chalk in different positions and was then composited over the top of graphics that were ‘revealed’ in a compositing software to give the illusion that it was actually drawn on. The various animations were then placed in 3D space with a 3D camera moving from each animation to the next to create the illusion of a single camera movement revealing each important animation segment.
